In 2018, aligned with FNB’s vision to fully digitise their business under CEO Jacques Cilliers’ “platform strategy,” Media24 saw a new future for the bank’s internal communications.
The solution
Our specialist Internal Communications team reimagined Siyasiza as an enterprise social network, hosted within the award-winning FNB Banking app (and also accessible on web), allowing staff to engage with content and drive two-way conversations.
Called Sync, the platform is supported by a content strategy delivering company news through the lens of tech and trend-focused thought leadership, appealing to FNB’s future-focused, trend-aware employee audience.

The results
Visits to Sync totalled 12 000 at launch in July 2018 and grew to 27 399 by March 2020. Today, the platform continues to receive upward of 20 000 unique visitors regularly. Its success led to a rollout across the entire Retail and Commercial Group at FirstRand, making Sync the centrepiece of the bank’s internal communications ecosystem.
