The opportunity
Tourism KwaZulu-Natal aimed to boost tourism and encourage locals to visit the province’s eight distinct regions. The challenge was to create content that highlighted the unique attractions of each area while engaging audiences in a way that encouraged exploration and interaction.
The solution
Media24 Advertising & Content Marketing developed eight video stories, each focusing on one of KZN’s regions. The content was hosted on a dedicated hub designed to attract and retain visitors. An interactive “clues” competition was integrated, where participants guessed the location of a pixelated image, which was revealed the following week. This gamified approach encouraged repeat visits and deeper engagement.
The results
- Attracted over 160 000 unique visitors to the content hub
- Achieved an average time on page of more than four minutes
- Over 1 500 people entered the “clues” competition, driving active participation
- The campaign successfully inspired both local and national audiences to explore KZN
